Sometimes, after they&#8217;re put to bed, there&#8217;s a long tail of opportunity to find another audience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nnsSUqgkDwU\">&#8220;Parisian Love&#8221;<\/a> clocked a million views last month, so Google CEO Eric Schmidt <a href=\"http:\/\/googleblog.blogspot.com\/2010\/02\/love-and-super-bowl.html\">let it rip<\/a> on the Super Bowl telecast. &#8220;Be sure to watch the ads in the 3rd quarter (someone said &#8220;Hell has indeed frozen over.&#8221;),&#8221; said the advanced <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ericschmidt\/status\/8738388895\">notice.<\/a> Thousands of blog posts, comments, and tweets later, this video began as just one of a series of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/searchstories\">Search Stories,<\/a> yet it resonated well beyond the web thanks to its simple message.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Parisian Love\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nnsSUqgkDwU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fwdlabs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/embrace-this.jpg\" alt=\"Embrace This PSA\" title=\"Embrace This PSA\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-980\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another recent ad that skips out on talking heads is from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sussexsaferroads.gov.uk\/\">Sussex Safer Roads Partnership.<\/a> Creating a striking PSA is oft an unglamorous challenge, but writer\/director Daniel Cox created &#8220;Embrace Life&#8221; to take on that challenge knowing the diversity of the audience.<\/p>\n<p>According to the press release (link no longer available), he notes, &#8220;[o]ne key aspect to the storytelling is that we developed Embrace Life to be non-language specific, so that the message wouldn&#8217;t become lost when viewed by visitors to, or residents of, the UK where English might not be their first language.&#8221; With over 800,000 views online, the result is clearly viral with appeal beyond its original intent.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Embrace Life - always wear your seat belt\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/h-8PBx7isoM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fwdlabs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/nuit-blanche.jpg\" alt=\"Nuit Blanche\" title=\"Nuit Blanche\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-982\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then there&#8217;s &#8220;Nuit Blanche&#8221; by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arev.ca\/\">Arev Manoukian.<\/a> Framed upon a simple moment in time, the short film uses slow motion to &#8220;explore a fleeting moment between two strangers, revealing their brief connection in a hyper real fantasy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/9078364\">making-of<\/a> supplement, you can see how each shot comes together in post, using tools like Maya, Mental Ray, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Blastcode and instanced particles.
