Oscar-nominated, Globe-winning actress Glenn Close narrates.<\/p>\n<p><strike>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=G8IozVfph7I<\/strike><\/p>\n<p>[UPDATE: Video no longer available.]<\/p>\n<p>Arthus-Bertrand is a photographer known best for environmental work. On his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yannarthusbertrand.org\/\">web site<\/a>, his biography mentions that &#8220;[h]e also discovered the beauty of the world seen from above when he became a hot air balloon pilot and began experimenting aerial photography.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"imageframe imgalignright\" style=\"width:320px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fwdlabs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/wolverine.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" class=\"attachment wp-att-329\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Virtually nothing about this was written about in the trades. <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/hr\/content_display\/news\/e3i573ed7d4bca6f9fc458243ab45f18153\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/span> only picked up the Reuters release. One commenter ironically noted that the first simultaneous online\/offline premiere was &#8220;X-Men Origins: Wolverine,&#8221; which was leaked online prior to its May 1 theatrical release.<\/p>\n<p>Within the last two years, but especially in recent months, feature films have been premiering online:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May 2009 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehuntforgollum.com\/\">&#8220;The Hunt for Gollum,&#8221;<\/a> a 40-minute fan film based on &#8220;The Lord of the Rings&#8221; and which received a blessing from director Peter Jackson, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehuntforgollum.com\/player_film-hd.htm\">premiered via DailyMotion<\/a>, one of the popular <a href=\"http:\/\/fwdlabs.com\/resources\/social-video\/\">competitors to YouTube<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>April 2009 &#8211; Full-length feature documentary <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/www.babelgum.com\/gorillazgobananaz\">&#8220;Bananaz,&#8221;<\/span> about music group Gorillaz, premiere exclusively online for global audiences at Babelgum.com.<\/li>\n<li>October 2008 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hulu.com\/watch\/37906\/crawford\">&#8220;Crawford&#8221;<\/a>, a full-length feature documentary, premiered on Hulu.com.<\/li>\n<li>October 2008 &#8211; Wayne Wang&#8217;s feature film, &#8220;The Princess of Nebraska,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/fwdlabs.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/20\/feature-premieres-on-youtube\/\">premiered on YouTube<\/a>. The film is now no longer available to watch.<\/li>\n<li>July 2007 &#8211; Google Video (no longer) distributed &#8220;Waterborne,&#8221; which <a href=\"https:\/\/fwdlabs.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/12\/online-market_watch-on-demand\/\">ended up<\/a> netting &#8220;80,000 viewers, but only 300 went on to purchase the $3.99 download.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>March 2006 &#8211; Before YouTube was around, the over-discussed film <a href=\"http:\/\/thesecret.tv\/\">&#8220;The Secret&#8221;<\/a> premiered online. It&#8217;s now viewable for $4.95.
