Developer's Description

Ideas strike wherever you are. Be prepared with StorySkeleton, the best story-mapping and organizational tool for iPad and iPhone.

Create the structure for your project with StorySkeleton’s snappy and finger-friendly interface. Export to a variety of useful formats, including native Scrivener and Final Draft documents!

• Quickly swipe from card to card, enter text content and descriptions, move cards around — anything you can think of doing with a regular ol’ stack of index cards, and more!

• Export your cards to:
.Fdx for Final Draft 8
.Scriv for Scrivener 2.x
.Opml, a popular mind-mapping format
.Rtf and .Txt for use with any major word processor
.Skel (StorySkeleton native format)

• Import projects from:
.Skel
.Opml
- to import files, put them in the Exports folder that is created when you export. If this folder does not exist, export a project and it will be created for you. Within your Dropbox, the folder will be Apps/StorySkeleton/Exports/

The ability to export means StorySkeleton can serve as a launching point for your screenplay, novel, or any other project that needs structure.

• Link to your Dropbox or send project files through Email so you’ve always got your latest plans and revisions with you. StorySkeleton’s Autosave function means Dropbox will always hold the latest version of your project, so when you switch devices you can do a quick import and have your latest changes. And you won’t lose your projects if your phone is lost or damaged.

• Easily back up your projects or share them with friends and collaborators.

Using StorySkeleton:
As opposed to apps designed for writing out your entire screenplay on your phone, the idea behind StorySkeleton is to touch-type LESS. You can type cards in short bursts, by writing brief sentences or quick reminders for yourself, wherever you are.

For example, a typical index card might only say “Darth Vader kills Obi-Wan.” That’s all! Just enough to trigger your mind and move you forward, to give you an impression of the big structure pieces. The title of that card would read, “Act 2: Mentor Disabled” — and with the custom predefined card types, you don’t have to type that part manually.

Then when you export to Final Draft, Scrivener, or any of the other export formats, you can use your full keyboard and your large monitor, and write directly on top of your StorySkeleton index cards, as fast as you can with a full-size keyboard - but with the added speed of having all your structure down, knowing where your’e going and what you want to say.

A lot of work will go into your project before you have a final manuscript. In order to focus your efforts and get your project to that stage as quickly and efficiently as possible, solid structure is essential. StorySkeleton can help you get there.

Please rate StorySkeleton! As an independent developer, every positive review helps so much!

"FWD:labs carries the most complete listing of linked professional apps I know besides of the fragmented Android Market (google play) and the iPhone App Store. I suspect it is a tenuous work to compile and link all proven working apps and much more your site offers. I thank you for sharing such complete list of iPhone and android apps for the cinematographer and the entertainment industry in general. I could not pass the opportunity let know my readers about your meticulous resource."
FILMCAST
"[R]idiculously useful compendium"
Directors Notes
"I thought [FWD:labs] had put together a useful list when I saw it last year, but that was nothing compared to now. If you're a filmmaker and looking for a little portable help in pre/production/post then chances are you'll find it in the Apps for Cinema Artists. I know I can be a little iPhone-centric when it comes to these things, but you’ll be pleased to know the list is completely platform agnostic."
Directors Notes
Pretty much every iPhone or Android App you'll ever need/want if you're a filmmaker
