Synopsis
150 dead bodies & 100,000 pounds of garbage remain on the icy slopes of Mount Everest. Because of climate change, glaciers on the mountain are melting; the bodies and trash are now decaying into the planet’s highest water supply. Namgyal Sherpa and Chakra Karki, disgusted with the situation, form an expedition with 19 other Sherpas to clean above 26,000 feet in Everest’s Death Zone. DEATH ZONE chronicles their ascent to the fatal summit as they fight to revitalize the mountain they worship and depend on for clean water.
